The flowers may have withered,
They smell no longer
sweet,
The presents may
have shattered
Into pieces at our
feet
The suits that I am wearing
Have become prodigious in
it's girth
The dress that
once did sparkle
May no longer be of
worth
The pictures might have faded
We might have lost our
wedding bands
But none of it would have mattered to me
As long as we are
holding hands
Those who were with us once
May no longer be with us on this day
The smiles that bloomed once for us
Have faded in the passage of time
The love we made in bed passionately
Is now nothing but a beautiful memory
The occurrences that once occurred
Have become stories whose endings we forgot
But none of it would have mattered to me
As long as we are holding hands
But here i stand beside the meadows
Under the oak tree where,
We carved our names with our hands
With a bunch of flowers that u loved
And a beer bottle on the hand
You were supposed to hold
Alone, afraid, frozen and,
Desperately waiting for the day
I get to hold your hands once more
